Iceland is widely known as The Land of Fire and Ice and the extreme contrasts in Icelandic nature are a huge part of the appeal. Diverse and beautiful, Iceland is home to some of the largest glaciers in Europe, as well as some of the world’s most active volcanoes. The Icelandic landscape is characterized by a huge number of waterfalls, mountains, geysers, volcanoes, black sand beaches, and steaming lava fields, reminiscent of an almost alien landscape.
Among other things, Iceland is the one that taught me respect for nature. It is a land ruled by volcanos and wind, the weather there is unpredictable, winters are dark and cold and in the summer the sun never sets.
Nature in Iceland is not only giving a miraculous views and experiences but also a good lesson of humility and understanding that we are just humans here. That the nature is our mother and the world is our home.
